Amazon comes with new Echo Dot speaker and smart alarm clock

Amazon has announced three new Echo Dot models. They are quite similar, but have differences mainly in appearance. There is the regular Echo Dot, the version with a clock and the children’s version.

The regular Echo Dot now has a new driver, which allows it to produce a better sound, Amazon announced in a press release. The bass performance is also twice as good, while the device is still the same size. In addition, a temperature sensor is built in, so that you can, for example, ask the voice assistant Alexa to turn on your smart fan when it’s a hot summer again. Would you rather not talk, but give a tap? Also possible, thanks to a special meter.

However, what is most excited about is the addition of mesh networks. Amazon bought the company Eero in 2019, and that purchase ensures that this great new opportunity is available for Echo Dot. As a mesh, it can therefore wirelessly extend the WiFi in range. Furthermore, the Echo Dot is the same as its predecessor. So there is that clock variant with a digital clock that can also display which artist and song are playing when you listen to music.
