Already installing? Android 11 has hit all Nvidia Shield TVs

As we announced in a recent article, it really happened. Nvidia has rolled up its sleeves and demonstrated what it looks like to many technology companies really long software support. All Shield TV devices these days receive an update on Android TV 11 and they include the oldest model from 2015. It came on the market with version 5 Lollipop, so we are talking about a shift of six generations of development. But enough about the history, let’s take a look at the major changes that this update brings…

Android 11 pro Nvidia Shield TV

The update, known as Shield Software Experience Upgrade 9.0, will delight both gamers and consumers of regular multimedia content. Shield TV owners and members of the GeForce RTX 3080 premium subscription now have access via the device Play 4K and HDR games and enjoy 7.1 sound. A similar improvement awaits users of the Apple TV and Google Play Movies & TV applications, which will work in the mentioned resolution with modern Nvidia devices as well as modern Dolby standards for audio and video.

The following game titles have also been released: Apex Legends Emergence, Far Cry 6, Life Is Strange: True Colors and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Year 6 Season 3 Crystal Guard. Let’s pick up from the system improvements aptX Bluetooth support for better wireless audio transmissions, Gboard keyboard enhancements or the shift of security patches to the September 2021 wave.
