Age of Empires IV is supposed to be a little closer to the console version -apkrig

Just as the developers at Asobo talked about a possible console version of Flight Simulator, so did people from the World’s Edge team in connection with Age of Empires IV. Therefore, it would not be too big if the plans were set in motion after the release and debugging of the PC version, and in the background – specifically in the Xbox Insider program – the console version began to be tested. It suggests escape from the database of the aforementioned insider center, which was noticed by the editors of the Italian technical magazine Aggioranemnti Lumia. They pointed out that the entry XIP_CAR_JANUARY_2022 appeared in the database and were able to decipher it satisfactorily on the basis of previously known information.

The acronym XIP most likely refers to the already mentioned Xbox Insider Preview and CAR on Cardinal, which should be the code name for Age of Empires IV. The second information is no secret, and the word Cardinal has gradually identified various versions of the game in pre-access for insiders or closed beta versions. It is therefore relatively safe to keep in mind that the first major tests of the Xbox version are actually taking place in the background. But since we’re still on the level of speculation, of course, some doubts can’t be left out, because the Xbox Insider program also runs on a PC under this name, and it could be, for example, an add-on test or a major update.

Still, it’s only a matter of time before the vision of World’s Edge creative director Adam Isgreen, who spoke quite openly about the console version in an interview with Multiplayer.it magazine at the beginning of last November, materializes. “As soon as we have a PC launch, we will start thinking about how to run the game on consoles as well. We don’t have any definitive plans yet, but right now we’re starting to think about it, “said Isgreen. Of course, it is necessary to rework the controls in particular, which is never a simple matter for strategies, and the question, of course, is whether the Microsoft people would still like to offer cross-platform gaming. But we have to wait for these answers, neither the developers nor the publisher naturally comment on the leaks.
