This Friday, the US Department of Commerce announced the addition of a new business to its blacklist. After Huawei, it is therefore the Chinese firm DJI which can no longer work with American companies.
Huawei’s situation since May 2019 is known to all. The Chinese smartphone maker is ostracized by the US Commerce Department on suspicion of espionage. The consequence is that since then, companies based in the United States can no longer collaborate with the brand. Last Friday, a new Chinese company joined this blacklist: the manufacturer of drones and stabilizers DJI.

DJI Joins List of Suspected Chinese Spy Companies
It was the Reuters news agency that provided this information. The manufacturer of drones and stabilizers joined the famous entity list, which forbids him to collaborate with other American companies. That’s not all since DJI’s products will not be able to be sold on American soil, while the iOS and Android applications of its drones will no longer be updated. Even components from a company based in the United States will no longer be usable. A real blow for the manufacturer who will thus see its turnover inexorably fall as Huawei is currently experiencing.
As of yet, no official explanation has been given for adding DJI to the blacklist. Since the arrival of Donald Trump as President of the United States, Chinese companies have been in the crosshairs of regulatory authorities. Both Huawei and TikTok have been accused of spying on behalf of the Chinese government. As the US president’s term in office draws to a close, a new business is entering his hunt. It remains to be seen what will be the consequences of these decisions and whether they will be changed in the future.
