A unique streaming service is heading to Europe

Don’t have anything to watch anymore? So you may be pleased with the new streaming service Globoplay, which has announced its arrival in Europe. It will have strong competition in the form of Netflix, the upcoming Disney +, or HBO Max (along with HBO Go) or Amazon Prime. However, Globoplay is a service with an exceptional focus. What will the new Globoplay streaming service be like?

According to Wikipedia, Globoplay is a Brazilian streaming platform that was established in 2015. It has been a great success in Brazil, with more than 20 million subscribers watching it by 2020, making it the most popular streaming platform. Its focus is one type of content – soap operas. Despite such a narrow focus, she is extremely successful.

According to Digital TV Europe, it began providing its services in the United States this month for a monthly fee of $ 13.99. Globoplay makes extensive use of partnerships and even enjoys exchanging content with some countries. For example, our Slovak Voyo would be able to provide them with the Farm, while Voyo would get some of their series. In this style, they should come to Europe in the first phase – as a content provider for domestic streaming services.

When could they come to Europe in full? Globo CEO Raphael Corrêa Netto adds:

“When we settle and develop in the United States according to our plans, we will seize great opportunities in Europe and Japan.”

Globoplay would then be available as an app for Android, Android TV or Chromecast.
