A look at LiveEO’s founder’s smartphone

In the “Homescreen!” series we take a look at the smartphones of people in the social media, marketing and tech industries – including app recommendations and tips for everything from to-do lists to small games in between. Today: Daniel Seidel, founder of LiveEO.

Daniel Seidel: In my everyday life I take on different roles. Together with my colleague Sven I run the spacetech company LiveEO. I am also the heart and soul of a father of two children. The apps I use should support me in my everyday life and ideally not distract me.

That’s why I’ve muted my smartphone for years to be able to focus on the important things in life. The background image on my smartphone shows the landing of the two boosters on Falcon Heavy’s maiden flight. The event was a real milestone for private space travel and motivates me every day to make a valuable contribution to the New Space sector.

To keep moving

I can’t live without sport because it makes me feel fit, I can reduce stress and face my day full of energy. However, I often have a lot of appointments. It’s not that easy to keep moving. So that I don’t miss out on sport, I use the app Tabata timer (for Android).

It offers intense interval training that only lasts four minutes, leaving no room for excuses. I’ve also played football in a club since I was a child. With the app FuPa (for Android) I keep up to date with the latest results, statistics and developments in amateur football.

If I need to get from A to B quickly, I drive an electric car. I’m not afraid of range, because thanks to the mobility+app (for Android) I can easily find the next free and working charging station. I can also fill up and pay with the app.

Always be up to date

As the founder of a SpaceTech company, I need to know about all the important innovations in the business and technology world. I use the app for that business week (for Android) as a source of information.

In cooperation with the WiWo, we have started the weekly series of articles “Wirtschaft von Oben”, in which current events are visualized using satellite images and evaluated by us. Of course, I also have them to match LiveEO app (for Android) on my smartphone.

Communication is the be-all and end-all

Communication is essential in my job. In order to be as accessible as possible for my employees, I use them Slack app (for Android). Here we can exchange ideas in the different teams on the respective topics. The app also offers an overview of my to-dos and can also be figma (for Android) to get integrated.

This app allows us to work agilely in a team on prototypes. With other stakeholders I am over LinkedIn (for Android) networked. Here Sven and I find interesting guests for our podcast NewSpaceVision.

Daniel Seidel: Very close to space

As a space enthusiast, I like to gaze at the stars at night. The app Star Tracker (for Android), recognize stars and planets. As a self-confessed Star Trek fan, I am fascinated by the vastness of the galaxy and how people will continue to explore it throughout my lifetime.

I like to spend a lot of time with my children. Some time ago we Applaydu (for Android) discovered for us. The games offered in the app have a clear educational character. I particularly like the integration of augmented reality. This makes the games more realistic and the children get a first impression of what is technically possible.
