A Kojima Productions Death Stranding movie is in the works

death stranding is not only going to be a game, we are also going to have the right to a movie. Kojima Productions, Hideo Kojima’s development company behind the game, has teamed up with Hammerstone Studios for a feature film.

The film will be based on the game released in 2019 on PlayStation 4, 2020 on PC and 2021 on PlayStation 5. It will be the first feature film from Kojima Productions and it will introduce new elements and characters to the universe of death stranding.

“I couldn’t be happier with this new partnership with Hammerstone Studios”, said Hideo Kojima. “It’s a pivotal moment for the franchise and I’m really looking forward to working with them to bring Death Stranding to the big screen.”

The game challenges players to reconnect a fractured society after the cataclysm of the Death Stranding event. This supernatural event opened a door between the living and the dead, leading to creatures from the afterlife wandering the fallen world scarred by a desolate society. The player takes the role of Sam Bridges, who holds in his hands the disconnected remains of the future of humanity, and embarks on a mission to restore hope to humanity by connecting the last survivors of a decimated America. The game features Norman Reedus as Sam Bridges, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Guillermo del Toro and Margaret Qualley.
