15% of readers paid 900+ euros for their smartphone
Smartphones come in all kinds of price ranges and more and more people seem to ignore the high-end phones and go for the midrange devices. Reason for us to ask how much you spend on a telephone. 15 percent go for a flagship, but there is also a large number of people who opt for the midrange segment.
What do you spend on your smartphone?
Phone prices have risen again and while fuel prices are skyrocketing and people often have less to spend due to coronavirus, it was reported that the first quarter of 2022 was not great in terms of phone sales. What about Androidworld readers? How much do you spend on your smartphone?
15 percent spend more than 900 euros, while 10 percent dives in the segment below that of between 750 and 900 euros and in the segment again below that of between 600 and 750 euros. For example mailrobin1608: “S22 Ultra for around €1000 with a lot of discounts.”
Crowds in the middle segment
Most readers are in the midrange segment: 14 percent opt for a smartphone between 450 and 600 euros, compared to 22 percent who choose phones between 300 and 450 euros. Also Erik.v16: “The Realme gt neo 2 for €400, during action weeks of Belsimpel a few months ago. I’m incredibly happy with it.” The lower budget includes 21 percent of our readers: 19 is between 150 and 300 euros. 2 percent spend no more than 150 euros.
Of course it is not always clear how much you pay for a phone, because you buy a phone in combination with a subscription (7 percent). Not even 1 percent remember what they spent on their phone. Those are not very different numbers than we saw last year when we asked the same question: only then it was 10 percent who chose a phone for 900 euros +. In short, phones will eventually become more expensive, but we do not immediately see among our readers that we are ignoring those expensive phones en masse.
We’ll be back with you next week with a new poll, are you participating again? Until then!
