The four coolest gadgets
Not everyone is already familiar with the principle of crowdfunding, and that is normal. It’s still a relatively new concept, but one that can help creative people make a difference. You first support a great idea for a product, and then you can follow the progress until the package arrives at your door. We selected the four best novelties for the Androidworld reader.
1. GameSir X3 – game controller for your phone
For who is it?
For those who like to play games on their phone and in particular for users of services such as Stadia and NVIDIA GeForce Now.
What is it?
The GameSir X3 is a mobile controller in which you place your phone. It is reminiscent of the Razer Kishi, but it comes with a fan at the back. Smartphones can feel very warm if you play games that have demanding graphics for a long time. Unlike the Kishi, the GamseSir X3 also works for larger phone models up to 179mm. Even a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with 6.8 inch screen would therefore easily fit in it.
- GameSir X3 – IndieGoGo – 64 euros inc. shipping – expected in June 2022
2. Infinacore P4 – handy charging accessory
For who is it?
For those who regularly travel with many different devices that can use a charge on the go.
What is it?
The Infinacore P4 stands out as the ultimate charging experience. The product consists of three separate parts: a phone charger that you plug into the wall socket, a smaller power bank with a 6,000 mAh capacity and a large power bank with a 12,000 mAh capacity. You can connect all parts magnetically to each other, creating one 18,000 mAh power bank that you charge by inserting the corresponding plug into the socket.
Both power banks support 15W wireless charging and 100W wired charging. As a result, the P4 can also charge laptops. In total there are four USB ports for wired charging and the Infinacore P4 can also wirelessly charge two devices at the same time. The power banks also come with a kickstand.
- Infina core P4 – Kickstarter – 183 euros including shipping – expected in September 2022
3. Fxtec Pro1 X – smartphone with physical keyboard
For who is it?
For those who miss phones with physical keyboards or would like to use Ubuntu or Lineage OS on their phone.
What is it?
The Pro1 X is a smartphone that comes with a very special mix of hardware and software. Since BlackBerry finally threw in the towel, we can no longer expect an Android phone with a physical keyboard. The Pro 1X does have one, and it’s even more than an Android phone. In addition to Android, users can also choose Ubuntu or Lineage OS as the operating system when setting up.
The device runs on a Snapdragon 662 chipset and it comes with a 5.99 inch AMOLED display. The Preo1X also has a pair of stereo speakers and it comes with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. An audio jack and a microSD slot are also included.
- Pro1 X – IndieGoGo – 819 euros inc. shipping – expected in May 2022
4. IVYCable – the foldable USB cable and power bank in one
For who is it?
For those who are crazy about cables that get tangled.
What is it?
USB cable can sometimes get into an annoying knot, we have all experienced that. The IVYCable can be neatly folded and remains in one piece thanks to magnets. When folded, it doubles as a power bank with a 3,200 mAh capacity. You can order it with a USB-A or USB-C input. The other side of the cable contains adapters for USB-C, Micro-USB and Lightning.
Think of this with crowdfunding
Keep in mind that with crowdfunding you always support an idea in the first place, with no real guarantee that the actual product will meet your expectations. So choose the projects and start-ups that you really believe in and follow the regular updates on development and shipping that the start-ups communicate.
What do you think of the above products? Have you ever ordered products through crowdfunding? Did that lead to positive experiences or were there disappointments as well? Let us know in the comments at the bottom of this article.
