The forgotten phone: Samsung M110 from 2008
In this edition of ‘The forgotten phone’ we go back to the year 2008. Chances are you can still remember exactly what the Samsung M110 looked like. We will discuss that telephone this Sunday in ‘The forgotten telephone’.
Samsung M110
The Samsung M110 was an average feature phone which was released in 2008. A perfectly normal device, without special features or possibilities. However, the Samsung M110 was equipped with a rubber housing, which made the device a bit more robust. This housing made the phone dust and waterproof. In addition, the device was also shock-resistant and provided with the IP54 certification. The range of colors consisted of olive green and black.
Samsung gave the M110 a 1.52 inch color screen with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels. These also provide a rendering of 65,000 colours. Despite the fact that the M110 did not have a special phone, the device came with a 0.3 megapixel VGA camera and an LED flash. It was not possible to film with it. We also saw the Samsung M110 with a 1000 mAh battery.
The phone was not praised by every user. The software was often slow and the clip to hang the device on your pants was fragile. However, the device was rated very well for its robustness, as were the speaker for the sound and the flashlight, where the LED flash on the phone was used.
