45 percent of readers are on their phone 2-4 hours a day
This week we had to expose our buttocks: in our poll we asked you what your screen time was and that question was also circulating in the editors. Some editors could still hide behind Web WhatsApp, but we probably all spend more time on our phones than we would like. In any case, the poll shows that 45 percent of readers spend about 2 to 4 hours a day on their phone.
Phone time
As soon as you install social media on your phone such as Instagram and TikTok, your screen time can go fast, although there are also people who prefer not to call but spend hours chatting with friends on WhatsApp. Or maybe you are in the crypto currency and you are often busy checking how your Safemoon or ETH is doing. Whatever the reason, this week we’re taking a look at how much time we think we spend on our phone (or how much it actually is).
In our poll we asked how much time you think you spend on your phone in a day. Nicely glued behind your screen: the majority of the responses (45 percent) indicate that they spend 2 to 4 hours a day on their phone. After that, the most votes go for between 2 and 2 hours of screen time (23 percent) and then between 4 and 6 hours of screen time per day (20 percent). Yet there are also quite a few people who spend more than 6 hours a day on screen time (13 percent no less!).
Rather spend less time
It obviously depends on what you count as screen time, because the editor who taps Web WhatsApp all day on a laptop won’t count that as phone screen time. In any case, there are many people who say that they would like to spend less time staring at their smartphone. Warrior says: “Too long actually. Work. Diversion. Social media. I hardly watch TV. On laptop Netflix, and movies that I download. Games of course. And on phone as said in the 1st sentence. All in all way too much. It’s just an addiction.”
Jerry.H agrees: “4 hours and 19 minutes on average per day. I was shocked by that .. time to put the phone down more often.” @Tukker doesn’t think it’s such an addiction, he prefers to think of it as a fun hobby: “Well, a lot of screen hours, but you can also just leave the device at home. What is an addiction, it’s just a fun hobby. ”
We think it’s a nice hobby to write an AW Poll every week, so we would like to extend your screen time a little bit next week with a new poll. Until then!
