Galaxy S22: Samsung disables performance throttling with a new option
Samsung had promised an update to stop the clamping of its Galaxy and the manufacturer has just released a new version which concerns its Galaxy S22. Users now have a choice.
Performance control for users
The story started last week when several users noticed a slowdown in Galaxy performance. It turns out that 10,000 diverse and varied apps weren’t fully utilizing the power at their disposal. However, others were running at 100%, including benchmarking tools. Tests were conducted and users then changed the name of one of the 10,000 restricted applications to the name of an unrestricted application. And as if by magic, she was able to take full advantage of the performance of the smartphone.
This is all related to Samsung’s Game Optimizing Service. This is responsible for optimizing the performance of the phone so that the gaming experience is good. The problem is that it was not possible to disable it and Samsung was very vague about it.
This week, Samsung deployed the S90xNKSU1AVC5 update, at least in South Korea. It should arrive gradually in all countries. The new version gives users a little more control, even if autonomy takes a hit.
In any case, some groups have already made decisions. The benchmark tool Geekbench has for example decided to no longer reference the recent Galaxy given Samsung’s choices.
