Budget devices Nokia C21 Plus and Nokia C2 2E announced
HMD Global has announced two budget Nokias. It concerns the Nokia C21 Plus and Nokia C2 2E. Nokia C21 Plus has a long battery life of 2 days and the Nokia C2 2E is more the device that is compact and even more affordable.
As light and cheap as possible
There is an update policy of two years of updates for both phones. This only concerns security updates, because Nokia tries to keep the operating system as light as possible. It concerns a device with Android 11. Both devices are equipped with a micro-USB port for charging: in short, Nokia does everything it can to make and keep the devices as light, basic and therefore cheap as possible.
The information about both devices is still a bit sketchy, but this is what HMD Global wants to say about the smartphones so far:
Nokia C21 Plus
This phone is the top device of the C-series from Nokia and is mainly focused on durability. The battery is 4,000mAh, which according to HMD Global stands for a battery life of two days. The device has an IP52 rating, which protects it against water drops and dust. The screen is 6.5-inch HD+ and the device has a dual 13 MP camera on board with which you can shoot portrait photos and panoramas, among other things. In addition, Nokia has wanted to keep Android pure and is therefore provided with three-monthly security updates for two years. Nokia C21 Plus will be available from May in Belgium and the Netherlands in Dark Cyan and Warm Gray with 2/32 GB of memory. The device is available from 119 euros.
Nokia C2 2E
The smaller brother of the C21 is Nokia C2 2E. This device has a 5.7-inch screen. The size of the battery is unknown, but here too HDM Global promises security updates for two years. The device will be available in Belgium and the Netherlands from May in the colors gray and blue with 2/32 GB memory. The device is available from 99 euros.
HMD Global also wants to focus fully on services. It expects to generate 1 million subscriptions to its services HMD Global Connect, Connect Pro, Enable Pro and Extend Pro in the first quarter of this year. These are Internet of Things connections, EMM licenses and device lock licenses. It therefore comes with a special team that will focus on these services.
