Ubisoft has announced the end of the battle royal Hyper Scape -apkrig
The Ubisoft developers announced a few hours ago that they would end their frantic battle royale Hyper Scape on April 28 after less than two years of operation. The news appeared on the official website of the game and subsequently on social networks, where this is the first new post after a message about the comic, which arrived last June. More than six months waiting for any the reaction from the developers thus probably only underlines the interest in the game and the players are sending very mixed reactions towards Ubisoft. The community of the most loyal naturally mourns the loss of the game, which was adorned with very dynamic gameplay and associated difficulty, but everyone else is rather surprised and sparing about whether Ubisoft will somehow take into account the fact that they spent their money in the game.
“We decided to create a vertical, fast-paced melee shooter and we are extremely grateful to our community for joining us on our journey,” the developers thank the players who did not leave the title and remained after the first wave of interest. Ubisoft did not publish how many of them there were, especially in terms of active people on a daily basis, but at the beginning of last year there were posts in which players complained about the very long wait when setting up the lobby and starting the match itself. “We will use the key lessons from this game in future titles,” the developers added, emphasizing that this was not an easy decision. In the end, very short reports just thank all the players for their devotion and suggest that anyone can turn to them with a question.

And the questions come, as mentioned above, when players ask for possible compensation for the payments they have made in the game. At the moment, however, Ubisoft does not seem to want to deal with the situation, and regardless of the unusually short period of its existence – given free to play and live-service games – everything looks like completely ordinary end of multiplayer title. However, it is possible that players will eventually receive a reward for loyal service, especially given that Ubisoft was already distributing $ 10 coupons to its store at the end of 2020 only when players returned to Hyper Scape in the allotted time window. Although the action had some limitations, it could simply be said that Ubisoft paid the players to play its free to play game, so some compensation for microtransactions would no longer be such a big problem.
But not to be unnecessarily annoying, the fact remains that Hyper Scape was not a bad game at all. On the contrary, in the eyes of the players who failed, it was a very unconventional battle royale with an emphasis on high jumps and a relatively demanding frenetic action. Thanks, or perhaps because of that, Hyper Scape didn’t have to sit down for everyone and very quickly, after its launch on August 11, 2020, it moved from the center of attention to its edge. Unfortunately, the game was not helped by a large coordinated promotion at Twitch, when at one point the influential streamers did not play Thread another, but even that was not enough in the flood of other established brands, and lethargy was also known on the part of the developers. After all, the last major update last arrived last April, so it’s probably time for the whole affair to end and Ubisoft can move on to something else.
Um, for example, the Roller Champions, another free to play event that was introduced “only” at E3 2019… Or simply to the many other free to play games that Ubisoft has announced and in which, according to previous statements, it sees the future. Did anyone say Ghost Recon: Frontline, whose beta was postponed indefinitely just the day before the scheduled launch? Or perhaps The Division: Heartland? And where is XDefiant? There are many questions, but very few answers.
