Huawei Mate 40 Pro receives the December security update

Chinese manufacturer Huawei is working hard on a December security update for its device, which currently runs on EMUI 11. While a few weeks ago, the P40 series models received the update, now the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is also receiving the latest security update. The Huawei Central portal informed about the news.

What changes does the update bring?

The update is labeled 11.0.0.253 and, according to the list of changes, does not bring any new news other than the December security patch. This was also reflected in the installation package itself, which is only 295 MB in size. The latest version of the system is gradually reaching users in Europe and should arrive soon.

You will be notified of its availability via a notification, but you can also check it manually in the system settings in the System and updates section. There, go to Software Update, and then click Check for Updates. Alternatively, you can force the update to be downloaded in the My Huawei application in the Update section.

The competition is also updating

The OnePlus 7 and 7T smartphones are also receiving the December security patch these days, while the very popular but long-unsupported models from the Samsung Galaxy S8 series received the November patches in December.

Samsung is also working on updates to Android 12 for its flagship devices, but in the case of folding models, it is failing and has again been forced to download a new version of the system.
