OnePlus 7 and 7T will receive a December “Christmas” update
Fans of smartphones from the Chinese manufacturer OnePlus will receive an update for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T in December. The 9to5google portal has announced that with the arrival of the update, users can look forward to a newer version of the operating system.
What does the December update bring?
The December update will bring a newer version of the OxygenOS 11.0.5.1 operating system to the OnePlus 7 and 7T smartphones. Although the system is still based on Android 11, this version of the operating system is already found on other smartphones of this brand.
Therefore, we can consider this update as a minor Christmas gift from the developers for users of the seventh line of OnePlus smartphones. The update includes a “year-end” security package and an important fix for the WhatsApp application.
An application issue prevented some devices from sending and receiving files and media. Of course, there is also an improvement in the stability of the system, which is also included in the December update. In this case, the availability of the update is addressed so that the update will not be distributed to devices in individual regions, but will be available worldwide.
However, a post on the official OnePlus forum says that it is not 100% certain that this global broadcast will work properly at all. Therefore, you can check the arrival of the update yourself in the settings, and after clicking on system updates, your smartphone will automatically search for an available update.
A few lucky people who have already received the December update have released screenshots and the estimated size of the entire update. Its size should be around 80 MB to 90 MB. You can also download the update using the official Oxygen Updater application. In it you will find all the necessary information about your smartphone as well as about all updates.
