Anouk Hoogendijk candid about two miscarriages: ‘Huge blow’
“This was 2 weeks ago. I would have liked to share the good news that I was 14 weeks pregnant. For 14 weeks we were on a pink cloud, how happy we were!’ Anouk begins her message. “Sonny was supposed to have a little brother in early June. Instead, things didn’t go well and I gave birth here.’ It is a huge blow to Anouk mentally and physically. ‘I need some time on both levels.’
make it negotiable
Earlier this year, Anouk also had a miscarriage, then it went wrong after eight weeks. “I’ve always had a dream to become a mother and I’m super happy that that dream came true,” Anouk continues. ‘Another dream has always been to be able to have two children shortly after each other. We have to let go of that dream right now.’ The former professional football player has long hesitated to share her story, but she would like to discuss it. ‘I prefer to lock myself up for weeks now and hide under my covers. But I know that unfortunately there are many who have to deal with these kinds of setbacks,” she writes. ‘In addition, I don’t want to pretend that I’m doing well, when I’m not right now. That takes energy and I don’t have it now.’
