Facebook (Meta) is at the first place in a ranking which is not glorious: it is the worst company of 2021 according to a survey of Yahoo Finance. It must be said that there have been several controversies over the past 12 months.

Poll naming Facebook as worst business of 2021 shows respondents have a “Litany of grievances” towards society, including censorship concerns, articles on Instagram’s impact on mental health and privacy, and more. If the poll results are negative and are not in favor of the company, 30% of the participants answered positively to the question of whether Facebook could redeem itself.

Amid the scandals, Facebook rebranded itself as Meta, marking the start of a new era for the company. The new name should be more in line with the goal of creating a metaverse, namely a fully digital world. The name change was widely seen as an attempt to divert attention, and according to some survey participants, it worked.

Yahoo Finance offers an annual survey to designate the best company. Microsoft is in first place this year. The platform also wanted to know for the first time which was the worst company in 2021. Mark Zuckerberg’s group received 50% more votes than the second worst company, namely Alibaba, a Chinese e-commerce giant.
