iMac Pro coming in 2022 – with good and bad news
Earlier this year, Apple launched an all-new iMac with a 24-inch display. Since then, many users have been waiting for the larger version. And it is on the way, in the form of an iMac Pro, according to an analyst.

Rumors about the new iMac Pro
Apple plans to release a brand new 27-inch iMac in the spring of 2022, according to a report by display analyst Ross Young. Earlier there was also talk of a larger screen (30 or 32 inches), but these plans seem to be off the table. Too bad.
If the report is correct, Apple is expected to unveil the new desktop at a spring event. The iMac will be on the market sometime between the end of March and the end of June next year.
To make the naming a bit easier, the new iMac will probably be called ‘iMac Pro’. With this name, it is clearly distinguishable from the 24-inch iMac, and is on the same level as the MacBook Pros.
Previous rumors about the iMac
There have been rumors about the iMac Pro before. It is expected that Apple will reduce the screen edges and that mini-LED will be used as a display technology. This would make the screen comparable to the display of the MacBook Pro from earlier this year.
The introduction of mini LED for the iMac Pro would help Apple market the machine as a professional device. The current 24-inch iMac does not have a mini-LED screen. In addition, the ProMotion refresh rate of 120 Hz should be used.
Recently, there have also been rumors that Apple wants to switch to OLED displays instead of mini-LEDs for some Macs and iPads. According to Young, that will take some time. The display expert explains that we can expect an OLED iPad or MacBook in 2023 at the earliest.
