macOS 12.1 beta 4 released
Apple has just released the fourth beta (build 21C5045a) of macOS 12.1 for download. It is currently in the hands of the developers, however the public beta should not be long (probably tonight or tomorrow). This version arrives two weeks after the previous one.
A fourth beta for macOS Monterey 12.1
Apple does not specify what is new in beta 4 of macOS 12.1. We are only entitled to one commendation for a SwiftUI-level patch. Document-based applications no longer have a “Save As” menu item above “Duplicate”. However, it will be necessary to install the new version to see if it hides any surprises. It is quite possible, it would be surprising if a new beta was released just for the mentioned fix.
If your Mac is configured to receive developer releases, open System Preferences and click Software Update. This will allow you to download beta 4 of macOS 12.1. Apple is not yet saying when the final version will be available.
What about iOS 15.2, iPadOS 15.2, watchOS 8.3, and tvOS 15.2? There is nothing new for today. These operating systems are still in the third beta since November 16. The final version should not be long anyway.
