Apple has patented a smart ring, which became known this spring. Designers have set to work designing their version of the Apple Ring and the Ring Pro. Both rings have a touchscreen and come with smart functions.

Not long after the emergence of the first smartphones, wearables started to conquer our hearts. From simple fitness trackers to expensive smartwatches that are more lifestyle-oriented. Furthermore, many already have a pair of wireless earphones with Google Assistant support, but it will not stop there either.

A lot of manufacturers are working on smart glasses and this week another concept of a smart ring from Apple appeared. The renders were based on Apple patents and we see an Apple Ring and an Apple Ring Pro. The regular Ring is a gadget with a small curved touchscreen, while the Ring Pro is somewhat larger and even resembles the Apple Watch a bit.

The ordinary Ring will probably be able to show notifications and simple data such as the weather forecast. It can also work as a pedometer. The Pro version will be able to show some more information on its screen, such as the current music track being played. You may be able to scroll through your songs by swiping on the small screen.

For the time being, it is not yet known whether Apple or another tech company has concrete plans to release a smart ring. But it certainly seems like a logical sequel to us, given the other wearables that are gaining popularity. We have also seen for some time that tech and fashion are merging more and more.
