The legendary Pocophone F1 will no longer be available to MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition

Smartphone software support is not eternal, and so does the legendary smartphone Pocophone F1. Spanish portal XiaomiAdictos yesterday confirmed that his support was over and the superstructure MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition will not wait.

Pocophone F1 has been receiving system updates for three years

The Pocophone F1 appeared on the market in August 2018 and immediately attracted the attention of customers. The main reason was that it offered a chipset of Qualcom Snapdragon 845 flagship models for less than 500 euros. The remaining parameters were also excellent and Xiaomi hit the market black with it. The great popularity provided the smartphone with long software support.

The owners of Pocophone F1 therefore expected in recent weeks that the smartphone will also receive the latest version MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition. It was supposed to deliver better performance with longer endurance on a single charge and more efficient memory management. Also new algorithms that dynamically allocate system resources based on specific usage scenarios.

Unfortunately, this will no longer happen. The Pocophone F1 model’s warranty for system updates has expired. This is also in line with Xiaomi’s policy, which by default guarantees smartphones two updates to the new version of Android and four updates to the new version of the MIUI extension. However, the smartphone should receive security updates for some time to come.

Other smartphones that do not receive MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition

Pocophone F1 will expand the list of Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO devices that will not receive MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition. Among them we can also find the Redmi 7, Redmi 7A, Redmi Y3, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7S and Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphones. All these models are quite old. New smartphones already have a three-year upgrade guarantee to the new version of Android.
