WhatsApp comes with new contacts screen in app

WhatsApp regularly works on new features and improvements. We already saw the new desktop app for Windows this week, we now see a renewed design for the contacts screen in the Android app. Everything just looks a bit better and more modern.

New contacts screen in WhatsApp

On the contact information page in WhatsApp you will find an overview with the profile picture of the user, the shared files and you will find various settings. Here you can mute notifications, choose custom notifications or manage the media settings. Scroll down a little further and you will find the option to call the contact, video call or send a chat message. After a new design was rolled out for the WhatsApp Business profiles, it is now time for all users, according to the latest messages.

In the recent beta, users will see the new contacts screen. It gives a modern appearance, and the design has been changed necessary. Instead of a large screen-wide profile picture, it has been replaced by a circular picture. Below that is the name, followed by the phone number. Below it you will immediately find the buttons to chat, call or video call with that person, and below is the status update. The shared media files can be found below, followed by the various settings that you can adjust per contact.

The new design can already be found in the beta version, but not yet in the stable version. We suspect it won’t be long until WhatsApp rolls out the new design to all users.
