Albert Heijn launches Wear OS app for smartwatches

According to Albert Heijn, customers always have their hands in the store and are afraid of dropping their phone on the floor. The AH Wear app should solve this problem.

AH Wear app on your wrist

The AH Wear app is suitable for smartwatches that run on Wear OS. Do you have such a smartwatch? Then you always have your Bonus card on your wrist with this app and you can easily scroll through your shopping list. You can also use the app to check out the Self-Scan in the supermarket.

You can use the AH Wear app as a bonus card and to hand in purchase stamps. In addition, the app functions as a shopping list. You see the list on your wrist that you have made in the Albert Heijn app or on the website. You can then add more of a product or remove a product. After paying, you can open the gate at the Self-Scan exit with your watch.

That is how it works

Once you have downloaded the app on your phone and your smartwatch, log in to your phone with your Albert Heijn account. You will be automatically logged in on your watch. You can now download the AH Wear app for Android in the Google Play Store.

Note: The app is part of a Tech Labs pilot so there may still be some minor flaws to note. Albert Heijn is in any case very curious about feedback from smartwatch users.

The AH Wear app will be added to a whole series of Albert Heijn apps in the Google Play Store. There is, for example, the official Albert Heijn app and the AH Compact ordering and delivery app for smaller households. The supermarket chain recently launched the FoodFirst Lifestyle Coach to help people in a positive way to eat better, exercise more, relax well and sleep better.
