Huawei P20 Pro receives an update with new applications

Huawei P20 Pro, which was one of the brand ‘s most successful flagship smartphones, has undergone a major software update. In addition to better security, according to the portal HuaweiCentral also brings new applications.

The update is divided into two packages

Huawei P20 Pro came on the market in 2018 with Android 8.1 Oreo and was later updated to the version of Android 10. The latest update called EMUI 10.0.0.193 does not bring a new version of Android 11, but it is still important for smartphone users.

This is indicated by its size of 775 MB and also by the fact that it is divided into two packages. The first contains a new voice assistant, Celia, which will be used for voice interaction and voice-to-text conversion. Other enhancements include the April Security Patch and the following new applications:

  1. Petal Search
  2. Reader
  3. Petal Maps
  4. GameCenter,
  5. Member Center
  6. Link Now

Some of these applications only appear in the system as a link to download the application itself. The second package then contains the July security patch. It is not known why Huawei chose this upgrade procedure.

The update is available via OTA and the system should notify you automatically. You can also check it manually in the section Settings -> System and Updates -> Software Updates -> Download and Install. Before installation, make sure that the battery capacity is at least 70% charged.

How is the competition?

Competition is also being made in the updates. Samsung’s South Korean updated the Galaxy Note 9 model or the Galaxy Fold 5G and Galaxy Z Fold 5G folding smartphones this month. Xiaomi has updated the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite, Redmi 9 and Redmi Note 9 smartphones in recent weeks. Taiwanese manufacturer Asus recently announced a plan to upgrade its smartphones to Android 12.
