Another fake competition under the Kaufland brand on Facebook
On Sunday, October 24, another fake page was added to the social network Facebook, which, with the name kaufland.slovenska.republika, pretends to be a brand of the Kaufland retail chain. Several rewards are promised to the participants in the post.
Don’t get caught by fraudsters
You may immediately notice in your profile photo that something is wrong. The stolen photograph, which shows a German inscription with a man in a royal cloak and a crown on his head, already indicates the inaccuracy of this competition. However, many have been caught and the post has more than 500 comments, which are still being added.
People even tag themselves, share the post with each other, and forward this fake message to their Facebook friends. Delimano Stone Legend tableware vouchers are the main attraction in the description. Their value ranges from € 300 up to € 1,000. You will “enter” the competition by typing one random number from the five boxes in the picture.
The first comment from the author of the profile encourages people to register on his fake page in the first step. After opening the link, you can immediately notice the created link to the page, which has nothing to do with the official Kaufland website. Pofider flashing icons with the inscription “REGISTER NOW” redirect you to third-party ads that try to obtain personal information from users or bank account numbers. As a second step, the author advises you to wait 5 minutes to send a “gift”. After registration, he promises you a 100% chance of winning. Such fake competitions do not make sense and you should always check their authenticity on the official website of Kaufland before you come across such a scam.
