iPhone 12 Pro vs iPhone 13 Pro – Upgrading is nonsense
In this comparison the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max next to the top models from the new iPhone 13 series. Spoiler alert: upgrading is nonsense!
With the arrival of the iPhone 13 series, Apple has canceled the luxury models of the iPhone 12 series. Those devices are no longer available through Apple’s website. The iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max are of course still available through other sellers. But might it be better to upgrade to the iPhone 13 Pro or Pro Max? In this article a comparison of the top models, the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max vs the 13 Pro and Pro Max.
Comparison: iPhone 12 Pro (Max) vs iPhone 13 Pro (Max)
It’s no secret that Apple is taking tiny steps with each new generation of iPhones. Also this year it should be clear that no gigantic changes have been made. In fact, there are only a few minor reasons why you might want to upgrade to the next Pro or Pro Max at all.
The comparison between the Pro Max versions of the iPhone 12 and 13 is very simple; hardly anything has changed! The displays are identical except for the refresh rate. The cameras are exactly the same. Charging is still just as fast. Even the dimensions are literally the same except for the thickness.
Apple has equipped the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max with some extra RAM and a faster screen. Of course there is also a new generation Bionic SoC in it. That is literally the only difference for now. For enthusiasts, there is also an option for a 1TB variant in this generation, although it is of no use to the average user.
In short, a simple conclusion can be drawn from the comparison between the Pro Max versions of the iPhone 12 and 13. If you have an iPhone 12 Pro or Pro Max, you won’t miss anything this year. Keep using it as long as it still works well. If you are a few generations behind and want a new iPhone, you can pick up a 12-series from many sellers for relatively next to nothing. Only the real fanatics and people who really value the refresh rate, extra RAM or a slightly faster processor could choose the iPhone 13 Pro (Max) over the 12 equivalents.
