A major update has been prepared for Telegram. With Telegram 8.0, users get a host of new features that make the chat app even better. Think live streams, better stickers, and more message forwarding features.

Telegram 8.0

You can download an update for the Telegram app from the Google Play Store. With the update to Telegram 8.0 you can take advantage of a lot of improvements and new features. This means that the chat application has been further improved. New, for example, is support for live streams. You can broadcast videos and share your screen with an unlimited number of viewers. To do this, you can tap ‘Video chat’ in groups, or on ‘livestream’ for channels. This can be for the profile page of the channel or group you manage.

The forwarding has also been improved in this version, as you can see in the screenshot. Tap the message you want to forward and you can customize several options. For example, the name of the original sender can be hidden. Captions can also be removed before a message is forwarded. You can also browse channels by scrolling further down on the last message in a channel. Telegram 8.0 also features improvements for stickers.

Unlimited Live Streams

Broadcast video and share your screen with unlimited viewers.
Tap “video chat” (in groups) or “live stream” (in channels) on the profile page of the community you manage.

Flexible forwarding

Tap ‘message forward’ above the input field to see or change how messages are forwarded.
Hide or show the original sender’s name.
Remove or keep captions from media posts.
Select and deselect messages to change which ones will be forwarded.

Go to the next channel

Browse the channels without going back to your chat list.
When you reach the last message in a channel, you can swipe up to go to the next unread channel.

Better stickers

Discover popular stickers above the ‘recently used’ section in your sticker panel.
Find your sticker bundles easily — thumbnails are enlarged as you browse to provide a better overview.
Know when your chat partner is looking for a sticker — your chat partner’s status will show “choose a sticker”.
When you enter an emoji into the notification bar, sticker suggestions appear — now with larger previews.
Pull up the suggestion panel to see more stickers.
