If you’re experiencing issues every time you let your phone charge, try the following solutions:
- Force restart – the best place to start resolving the problem is by performing a force restart. It is simple, does not require lots of effort, and works like a charm in most cases. Press and hold the Volume button and the Power button simultaneously for 10 to 15 seconds. The phone will turn off and will boot in a couple of seconds.
- Make sure you are using Samsung approved wireless charger.
- Remove the case – if you’re using the case for your S20, you should remove it and then try charging your phone.
- Remove the accessories when charging your S20 – disconnect your headphones before starting the wireless charging process as the headphones could interrupt it.
- Make sure wireless charging is enabled – the option is turned on by default, but perhaps you made some changes recently. To ensure the option is enabled, go to Settings> Device care> Battery> Charging and make sure Fast Wireless Charging is turned on.
- Is there a software update? – updates bring many new things such as security patches and new features and bug fixes, so it is always worth getting them. Head over to Settings> Software Update and tap Download and install.
- Turn off fast cable charging – For some users, this simple trick fixed the wireless charging issues. Go to Settings> Device care> Battery> Charging> Fast Charging and disable it.
- Wipe the cache partition – it will help you get rid of corrupted files within the system’s cache. Turn off the phone. Press the power key and the volume up at the same time. Hold these buttons until you see the Android menu on the screen. Use the volume buttons to navigate to the Wipe cache partition and confirm it using the Power key. Again use volume buttons and highlight Yes, then confirm with the power key. Let the process complete. The option “Reboot system now” will be highlighted. Use the power button one more time to confirm.
- Factory data reset – it is the solution that will delete all that you have on your phone, and it will restore all the settings to factory defaults. For that reason, it is essential to create a backup first. When that’s done, go to Settings> General Management> Reset> Factory Data Reset> Reset. Let the process complete. Follow a few simple on-screen steps and set up your Galaxy S20 / S20 + as a new device.
If you tried all the above, but nothing is working, make sure to contact Samsung Service Care.
