Xiaomi accuses Realme of already copying their marketing strategy
Copying and blaming each other is common among smartphone manufacturers. However, sometimes it is curious, which is confirmed by the latest accusations of the company Xiaomi against its Chinese competitor Realme. The Spanish portal informed about it XiaomiAdictos.
Did the Realme copy the Xiaomi Mi Fan Festival program?
There has been intense rivalry between Xiaomi and Realme for several years, especially over the Indian market. It is precisely because of this market that this separate brand was founded in 2018 by the vice president of OPPO. And even with the first smartphones, it was obvious that he was inspired by the success of the young competing brand Xiaomi. The design, hardware and also the graphic superstructure are very similar to them.
However, Xiaomi seems to have had enough and is now pointing to another thing that Realme’s competitor was supposed to copy. Sneha Tainwala, director of Redmi Business, posted a tweet on Wednesday pointing out how Realme copied the idea of the Xiaomi Mi Fan Festival. The Indian Realme Fan Festival created by the Realme Entrepreneurship program seems to be inspired by the Xiaomi India Grow with Mi initiative.
“Mi Fan Festival” >> “#CopyCat Fan Festival”
It has now stopped being funny. Kitna copy karoge @MadhavSheth1 sir?

Realme allegedly copied not only Xiaomi’s marketing strategy in this market, but also his promotional materials and the entire program of the discount festival. Of course, Realme’s reaction didn’t take long. The CMO of Realme India and Europe Francis Wong responded to Tainwal’s tweet on Twiiteri.
Sigh. Can’t believe this is coming out from a director of a proper brand.
It’s time for everyone to focus on their own business. keep our mouth shut and let products speak.
PS: Comments of that tweet made me understand how users gonna feel if your brand is talking like that. https://t.co/xvuHIcVLjk— Francis Wong (@FrancisRealme) August 19, 2021
Francis Wong, in his own words, does not believe that such a thing could have come out of the head of a decent company. He argues that everyone should focus on their own business, keep their mouths shut and let the products speak. However, Redmi Business Director Sneha Tainwala stands by his words and calls the Realme brand a “copier”.
This is not the first time Xiaomi has called Realme a copier
Surprisingly, this is not the first time anyone in Xiaomi has used the term to refer to Realme. For example, Xiaomi Global Vice President Manu Jain did so in January last year. In his case, it was a reaction to Realme CEO Madhav Sheth, who indirectly ridiculed Xiaomi on the occasion of the launch of the Realme 3 smartphone in 2019.
On that occasion, he said: “We do not sell ads, we sell phones.” At the same time, he came across advertisements that are displayed in the MIUI superstructure and its applications. Paradoxically, a few months later, ads began appearing on Realme smartphones, which Xiaomi’s CEO used to accuse of copying and hypocrisy.
