GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas remasters in the works
Lovers of GTA 3, Vice city and San Andreas, get ready: Rockstar is currently preparing remasters. According to Kotaku, the three games should arrive this fall on several media, including the Nintendo Switch.
Rumors and other rumors have been heard for a while now indicating that remastered versions of GTA are in the works. There is also Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar, which had announced to have three remastered games in preparation, without revealing the titles. So here are new details just arrived.
Rockstar Dundee would take care of the remaster of GTA 3, Vice city and San Andreas. The studio would use the Unreal Engine and make visual adjustments by mixing the original graphics with more modern graphics. Players could almost feel like they are playing a modded version of Grand Theft Auto. On the other hand, we must expect that the gameplay does not change (or very little) compared to the original games. Rockstar would like to keep the style of games in the PlayStation 2 era.
All three GTAs would arrive in late October or early November on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Nintendo Switch, PC, Stadia, and iPhone / Android smartphones. However, it seems that the PC and mobile editions are not quite ready. Their launch could therefore be postponed to 2022. Rockstar would prioritize consoles.
Kotaku takes the opportunity to announce that Rockstar would also prepare a remastered version of his game Red Dead Redemption. But there is no more information on this subject.
