Set the background – that’s how it works
If you do not want to present your study or living room in the background in a video meeting, you can set a background with Zoom. The tool offers various options for a virtual background and transports you to an office or the beach in the video call, for example.
Version:5.7.4
Languages:German
License:Shareware
Platforms:Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows, Windows 10
So that the background can be set without interference, you should ensure that the lighting is even. In addition, there should not be too many different colored objects visible on your back, as this could hinder the automatic background creation. You can achieve the best effect with a green screen.
Zoom: background change directly in the video
A background can be changed during a meeting without a Zoom account:
- To do this, tap on the arrow next to the “End video“Button.
- Select the option “Virtual background“:
- You can now choose a background. A picture in JPG, PNG or GIF format with a resolution of at least 1280 x 720 pixels is suitable for this. Videos can also be set. The video should be in MP4 or MOV format and a resolution between 480×360 pixels (360p) and 1920×1020 pixels (1080p).
Zoom: Set the background – this is how it works for all video appointments
The background can be set up permanently in the Zoom client:
- Opens the Zoom client.
- Calls the settings on.
- In the menu you will find the option “Virtual background“. Here you can choose one of the pre-installed backgrounds for your zoom video.
- With the option “add a picture“You can also choose your own pictures.
Set the zoom filter
To make video conversations a little more fun in Zoom, filters can be used similar to Snapchat and other photo apps. This is how you transform yourself into a cat, pirate, or other character while talking. The developers use the Snap Camera for this purpose, for example:
- Installed the Third party tool first and updates the zoom client if necessary.
- Press yours profile pic in the upper right corner in zoom.
- About the settings you open the video options.
- Select the Snap Camera in the camera settings.
Now you can put the different filters on your face. So that it doesn’t get embarrassing the next serious video call, you should use the setting deactivate again in good time. To do this, select the normal camera again as just described. Alternatively, you press the arrow symbol next to the option “Stop video” and switch off the video filter.
