Check out the new video with the Czechs in Age of Empires II -apkrig
Microsoft has released some interesting new details on the expected Dawn of the Dukes extension for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, which it introduced in mid-June. First of all, we got a new video. This presents both new nations, ie the Czechs and Poles, and we can see fresh shots of the game with their specific units.
The video also attracts us to the previously announced three new campaigns, the heroes of which are the Polish Queen Hedvika of Anjou, the Lithuanian Grand Dukes Kęstutis and Algirdas, and from our point of view, especially the one-eyed Jan Žižka. We will also hear a piece of his monologue and will be pleasantly surprised by the pronunciation of the name itself. Looks like he really cared about the team.
According to the authors, the Czechs are a nation of gunpowder and monks.
The expansion will be released on August 10, next Tuesday. In addition, those who pre-order Age of Empires IV are entitled to this DLC for free. But of course you will still need the original game. Dawn of the Dukes can be pre-ordered at this time. The expansion sells for 10 euros on Steam and Microsoft Store, and Xbox Game Pass subscribers are entitled to a discount. This is the second official extension for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition.
Each civilization comes not only with its own hero, but also with unique units and technologies, attracting developers. The venue of the campaigns will of course be Central and Eastern Europe and Dawn of the Dukes will also offer new achievements. According to the authors, the Czechs are a nation of gunpowder and monks. Threats lie in wait for us from all sides, and therefore our ancestors came up with new weapons, combat equipment and defense strategy. All this was to help the Czechs repel foreign invaders. Local scholars again ignited some of the first social changes in Europe.
It is a wit that should have allowed the Czechs to outsmart and overcome even numerically stronger enemies. From the unique units, the authors name the Hussite war car as the forerunner of the modern tank. They have great firepower and excel in defending the units behind them. Another unique feature is the howitzer, with which you can crush enemy fortifications and formations. As for technology, they mention the tactics of the wagon wall and the Hussite reforms. The first has a positive effect on gunpowder units, the second improves monks and monasteries.
The profile on the official website also deals with individual heroes, but it is more of an excerpt from history lessons than their influence on the game itself. As for the mentioned achievements, only the Czechs, Žižka and their campaign will focus on a few of them. In addition to the obligatory ones for the victory, it is worth mentioning, for example, the humorously called Rhapsody of the Bohemians trophy, which you can unlock by training 10 howitzers.
You can find more details about individual characters and nations in our previous news or on the official website, which also pays more attention to Poles and the remaining heroes.
