Google shows new privacy overview for Play Store app
The Google Play Store will get a new privacy overview in the future. Information about this was already shared earlier, but now Google is also releasing images showing the new privacy overview. It should contribute to the provision of information to Android users.
Privacy overview in Google Play Store
The Google Play Store app will soon be expanded with a new function. The privacy overview will be added to the Play Store app later. This should give users faster and better insight into what data is collected by an app. This could include location data or access to, for example, your gallery or calls.
The overview also shows why certain data is needed for an application, and whether it is shared with third parties. Developers must enter the information into the Play Developer Console where they submit the applications. Information is also displayed about security measures. Think of sending messages encrypted and whether users have the option to immediately delete their data.
Google has announced that the overviews will be added to the Play Store in the first quarter of 2022. Developers can start submitting the information from October this year. Developers must do this before April 2022.
