Glitchpunk – -apkrig
If you wanted last year’s Cyberpunk 2077 to leave the view of the first person, because you wanted to look at the V from a bird’s eye view, be smart. The wishes could be fulfilled by the top-down shooter Glitchpunk, the debut of the Dark Lord studio under the banner of Daedalic Entertainment, which will head to the preliminary approach next month.
You will have to pave the way to the top with drugged gangsters, aggressive police and irresponsible drivers. And by the way, the whole thing is reminiscent of the first two episodes of the Grand Theft Auto series. The story is supposed to deal with motifs such as transhumanism, religion and xenophobia, and the creators promise that you will have an influence on the world around you, including the possibility of forming various alliances. Or start a gang war, if you’re more attracted to chaos.
As part of the August preliminary access, a pair of cities are waiting for you – Outpost Texas and New Baltia, later Neo Tokyo and Moscow will be added to Glitchpunk. Each of the cities boasts a slightly different aesthetics and, of course, its own characters and gangs.
Otherwise, a lot of shootings, explosions, chases and overruns await you, depending on the plan, sometimes enriched with hacking. You will play as an android who is trying to overcome his own programming, while you can modify your heart in various ways, and thus influence the game attributes such as speed, strength and so on.
Glitchpunk in early access is released on Steam on August 11, 2021.
