Instagram doubles Reels duration to 60 seconds

Instagram double still the duration of the Reels with now the possibility of having videos of 60 seconds. As a reminder, this video service is neither more nor less than a copy of TikTok.

It must be said that this is not the first time that Instagram has doubled the duration of the Reels. Initially, vertical videos could last for a maximum of 15 seconds. The social network quickly decided to do more by allowing a duration of 30 seconds. So here we are now with Instagram Reels that can be 60 seconds long.

Until recently, TikTok also capped videos at 60 seconds, and it was with this time constraint that the platform really exploded. So it’s probably wise for Instagram to increase its video limit to give creators a little more room to work. TikTok’s longer boundaries were more suited to cooking videos, storytelling, and more, while still keeping the social network going. In the case of TikTok, the duration can now be up to three minutes.

In any case, it would be interesting to know how many people actually create videos for Instagram Reels. Because a lot of existing content comes … from TikTok.
