Instagram Stories gets handy translation function

Instagram has quietly added a new feature to the application. From now on, a handy translation function can be found in Instagram Stories.

Since 2016, we can translate profiles and posts in Instagram into our own language, if they are written in another language. Now Instagram Stories is quietly equipped with a new feature, according to research by DroidApp.

When a story on Instagram Stories has text typed in a different language, a small text “View translation” appears at the top of the screen, along with a speech bubble. Tapping this will scan the photo for text and the translation will appear within seconds. When multiple texts have been typed, they are displayed separately. It only works with typed text, so not with text that you can write with the brush, for example.

The feature is now available in the Instagram app.
