Banking news June 2021: Merger of 365 and Poštová banka and ecological thinking
The banking sector is changing dynamically and Slovak bank news are announced relatively regularly. That’s why we come up with a regular monthly summary of the most important things that happened, this time in June 2021.
Contents
365.bank has its first branches
365.bank thus becomes a full-format bank. Clients can arrange, for example, mortgages, term deposits and others at branches. The branches will include an informal style of communication, which the bank’s clients are already used to in the application.
“Pšíčkari” will also be happy, because all branches should be dog friendly. This year, the bank plans to open up to 63 outlets throughout Slovakia.
“Thanks to the network of our branches, our clients will also be able to solve products for which they prefer personal consultation, such as a mortgage, investment or the second pillar. At the same time, digital elements will also have their place in branches. We are introducing a digital signature when opening an account, thus continuing to push through our paperless philosophy. A demo version of the application and a tablet with offers and other information will also be added. “
Peter Hajko, Member of the Board of Directors of 365.bank responsible for retail.
Postal bank under the brand 365
Another important novelty that has taken place in recent days is the takeover of Poštová banka’s bank branches under the 365.bank brand. The process started in early July. Poštová banka will continue to operate fully at the Slovak Post offices. Poštová banka also has a new director, Melinda Burdanová.
VUB Bank signed up to the Green Manifesto
„We have the know-how, perseverance and strength to fulfill our promise as well. We want to improve and develop our primary business so that we are a motivation and support for our clients in their efforts to act ecologically, and at the same time so that together we can turn the economy green. We want to change internally and embed enviro principles even more significantly into the core of our processes and the work of the entire team. Last but not least, we want to further support the non-governmental sector, which is involved in projects that together create a greener world. “
Alexander Resch, General Director of VUB.
The bank offers a green mortgage, which you can get if you invest part of the funds in the acquisition, construction or reconstruction in green technology. These can be, for example:
- ventilation by recuperation
- solar collectors for water heating
- photovoltaic cells for electricity generation
- biomass boilers
- low-energy, resp. passive houses with energy certificate A0 and A1
SLSP: Green Payment Cards and Investing in George
The largest Slovak bank calls people to branches to hand over their expired payment cards. It will take care of their ecological disposal or recycling. The new cards issued by the bank are ecological, with an extended validity period of 3-4 years. This results in lower material consumption.
These ecological cards have the ability to decompose up to 99%, together with the new George design, their clients can get one year free with a bonus of 60 euros.
“Despite the significant growth of mobile or watch payments, traditional payment cards are still the most used method of payment for many people. That’s why we decided to bring eco-friendly credit cards, in addition to the new George design. Clients will automatically receive them for a new account, and if they open the account online through George, they will have it for free for a year, and they can also receive a bonus of 60 euros. “
Juraj Barta, director of digital and daily banking at Slovenská sporiteľňa.
In addition to ecological thinking, the bank also brought other news. In the George mobile application, it is now possible to invest in mutual funds, shares and ETF funds directly via mobile.
