Names known from upcoming iPhone generation
Apple has decided on the names of its upcoming iPhone generation, according to a report.
It would of course make perfect sense that the next iPhone would simply be called the ‘iPhone 13’. But that’s not as obvious as you think. It contains the number 13. And as you know, many people are ‘afraid’ of that. In many planes there is not even a row and/or seat 13, because many people think this brings bad luck.

The upcoming 2021 iPhone will be named “iPhone 13” for the entire lineup, according to the Economic Daily News. Furthermore, the report says that Apple will stick to the terms “mini”, “Pro” and “Pro Max” for the different variants, all of which are expected to launch in September.
The report comes kind of unexpected. This is because a discussion has arisen about the name of the upcoming iPhones. A survey found that one in five iPhone and iPad users are put off by the prospect of an “iPhone 13” because of triskaidekaphobia. This is a fear of the number thirteen. Instead, 38% of survey participants said they’d like Apple to drop the corresponding number altogether and name each iPhone release based on the year, such as “iPhone 2021.”

The report also shows that just under 13% of users would like Apple to call the upcoming iPhone the “iPhone 12S.” Apple last named an iPhone with the suffix “S” with the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max in 2018, a year after the release of the iPhone X. The “S” names are usually reserved for minor updates to an iPhone one year release.
