Xiaomi is planning a unique smartphone that even exceeds Samsung’s plans
Foldable smartphones are the next big thing – or are they? A new trend is emerging that LG has literally set in motion. Samsung has picked it up and Xiaomi probably wants to take it to the next level. Can Xiaomi really deliver this time?
Xiaomi wants to build a smartphone that can be pulled out twice
So far, a roll-out smartphone has been considered an “impossible” project. LG wanted to do it with the rollable, but then withdrew from the smartphone market. Samsung takes up the idea and wants to top LG by not only realizing a roll-out smartphone, but also a sub-display camera at the same time. The level of difficulty increases. Xiaomi is still not enough. The Chinese company wants to build a smartphone that has a display that can be pulled out on both sides (source: MySmartPrice). Should then look like this:
On both the right and left side of the Xiaomi smartphone is a motorized drivethat extends the device on both sides. Of course, this only works on one side if necessary, as you can see above. So you could enlarge the area of the display depending on the application and reduce it again during transport.
In this Video can you see how Xiaomi is revolutionizing charging technology:
Can Xiaomi deliver this time?
Just because Xiaomi is planning a smartphone in a patent doesn’t mean it will become a reality. The Chinese company actually wanted to have a folding cell phone at the start. Hasn’t happened yet. It is very certain that Samsung will follow through with the development. After all, such a roll-out smartphone has already been presented in a video. It is currently difficult to assess whether Xiaomi will really follow suit and perhaps pursue an even better approach. We would like it.
