Pitchford before Borderlands offered three games according to The Lord of the Rings -apkrig
In connection with the newly announced spin-off of Borderlands Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, somewhat surprisingly, there was talk of former plans to play from the world of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. In response to the announcement of Tiny Tiny’s new adventure, Gearbox director and founder Randy Pitchford himself shared his long-held dream on Twitter, for whom the new title represents a partial fulfillment.
I have been trying to make a first person action RPG fantasy game at Gearbox since 1999 (when I unsuccessfully pitches three concepts for games based on the Lord of the Rings franchise – long before the movies). For me, Wonderlands is the culmination of this 20+ year long dream. pic.twitter.com/7KmnSPCmON

Pitchford came up with the idea even before Peter Jackson’s famous film trilogy, in 1999. At that time, according to his own words, he had to submit three concepts and proposals. But none of them succeeded and work began on them. However, he did not reveal further details. But according to his tweet, more than 20 years of waiting for his dream fantasy game began for him at that time, and this position is now held by Wonderlands.
I’m grateful to the people of Gearbox who set the stage for the opportunity within the Borderlands universe, the incredible leadership and development team building the game, the amazing cast lending their talent to bring it to life and the partnership and support from 2k Games. https://t.co/QAYrRZBx3D

On that occasion, he did not forget to thank not only his developers, who allowed something like this to take place in the world of Borderlands, but also other collaborators in the form of actors or 2K Games itself.
