Netflix releases the first teaser trailer for The Witcher season 2! Ciri takes center stage in the trailer, but we’re missing something important…
After the unprecedented success of Netflix’s The Witcher, fans couldn’t wait for season 2. The popular fantasy series has been quiet for a while, as the pandemic caused some delay. Now, on the other hand, there is finally news surrounding the show with a brand new teaser trailer. It’s just missing a pretty essential character. The titular character, that is.
The Witcher season 2 teaser
The teaser is all about Ciri. Geralt’s protégé proved to be essential to the story in the first season. Just like in the games, the girl is a key component of the Witcher universe. The Lion Cub of Cintra also takes center stage in the latest trailer.
Fans, on the other hand, are quite rightly wondering where Geralt is. After all, the gruff Witcher is largely why we watch the series (not Ciri). A single shot of him waving his sword or saying hoarsely ‘hmmm’ would be enough. For the time being, that is not the case. We do see two swords crossing in one flash. One of these is almost certainly Geralt’s.
Of course, despite the teaser, we can confirm that Henry Cavill’s character will return in The Witcher season 2. The actor was photographed several times on the set. The fact that he is the main protagonist of the show should also clear up any doubts.
For the time being, however, Netflix chose to release a flashy, quickly edited trailer about Ciri. In it we see, among other things, a dagger that will undoubtedly be important for the story. Other than that, the trailer doesn’t really reveal anything. Not even a release date!
