June 2021 Android update fixes camera issues

Samsung has started rolling out the June 2021 Android security update to all Galaxy S21s. In addition to fixing a handful of security vulnerabilities, this patch also addresses camera performance concerns that many users reported recently.

At the end of May 2021, we mentioned in our columns the deployment of the Android update of June 2021 on the Galaxy S21. However, this patch was currently only available in South Korea. However, our colleagues from the SamMobile site confirms that the Android security update of June 2021 is being deployed in other regions of the world. It is already available in the United Arab Emirates and should therefore arrive shortly in other countries.

When the patch was released in South Korea, we did not yet have the details of the various fixes made. Gold, it turns out that this update will be rather important. Indeed, it turns out that Samsung is correcting the Galaxy S21 camera performance concerns with this patch. Problems reported en masse by users recently.

For the past few weeks, many Galaxy S21, S21 + and S21 Ultra owners have been complaining enormous slowness with the camera of their smartphone. The zooms and the passages between the different sensors take an unusually long time, making it impossible to use them correctly.

Samsung fixes S21 camera performance issues

In its official forum, Samsung has “confirmed that lag occurs when there is sufficient memory or compute resources in a specific path, especially in Portrait mode ”. Note that according to several testimonies, these slowdowns also occur in Landscape mode and other configurations.

In any case, the Android Security update of June 2021 should therefore resolve these performance concerns. It remains to be seen whether the problem will be definitively resolved, or if malfunctions will still exist despite the patch. We will have to wait for the feedback of more users to find out.
