However, not everyone liked this change. Therefore, this week the company announced that users will be able to choose for themselves whether they want to see the number of likes or not. Facebook began testing this feature last year based on experts who claim that not seeing the number of likes can be beneficial to the mental health of some users. However, after the feature was introduced, it turned out that some users didn’t like the change. One of the reasons was that they got an idea of ​​what was popular based on likes.

Facebook therefore decided to give users a choice. In the Instagram settings in the Privacy section, you will now have the option to hide the number of likes of all posts in the channel. This allows users to focus on the content of the posts themselves and not on their popularity.

From now on, it is also possible to hide the number of likes on your own posts, thanks to which other users will not see them even if they have the display of likes below posts turned on. However, there is no universal switch in the application settings for this, and it is necessary to set it manually for each published article.
