Marsupilami to leap in video game produced by Microids
After the Smurfs, Tintin, Asterix or even Blackstab, the French publisher Microids offers himself the scalp of another giant of Franco-Belgian comics: Le Marsupilami. The creature created by the late Franquin will once again make leaps in a video game, 26 years after the last escapades on Mega Drive. The whole Marsu family will meet this time in Marsupilami: The Secret of the Sarcophagus, a platform game a priori inspired by Rayman (which would be a lesser evil).
The pitch fits on a Marsu stain: after the opening of a cursed sarcophagus, ghosts wreak havoc in the jungle. The Marsupilamis Punch, Twister and Hope will then do their utmost to ensure that the ghosts… never come back. Several environments will be available, including “The Marvelous World of Marsupilamis” (sic), the coastal town, “the Palombian Jungle” and finally “the Lost Temple” (without Indy). In addition to the solo adventure, the game will offer a time trial mode.
Too bad not to have kept the graphic style of Franquin
Developped by Ocellus Studio (of which this is the first title), Marsupilami: The Secret of the Sarcophagus will be available on November 16 on Mac, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series. Microids has also planned a collector’s edition featuring a 14cm Marsu figure.
