Snapchat launches Shows with augmented reality
Snap has just unveiled the fourth generation of its connected glasses Shows. And this time, there is a change since this accessory displays certain information (or effects) in augmented reality! Snap CEO Evan spiegel demonstrated this new model as well as AR effects almost all inspired by Snapchat filters.

The 4th gen Spectacles have two waveguide display systems (2000 nits) capable of overlaying AR effects mostly created with Snapchat software tools. The accessory also includes four built-in microphones, two stereo speakers and an integrated touchpad. Of course, several cameras placed at the front make it possible to “scan” the environment and facilitate the visual integration of the AR elements. The weight does not exceed 134 grams (light for an AR system, but twice as heavy as the previous Spectacles), and the autonomy does not exceed 30 minutes.
Unfortunately, these Spectacles AR glasses created by the Snap Lab hardware division are no longer a working prototype. Indeed, they are not intended for sale to the general public although a small number of models will be distributed to handpicked AR creators.
