Warzone goes wild with banning cheaters
In the past 3 months, almost as many Call of Duty: Warzone cheaters were banned as in the year before!
It’s rare that a game is as hugely popular as Call of Duty: Warzone. Unfortunately, it is a given that such a game is overwhelmed by cheaters. Recently, the developer stated that their game is being ruined by cheaters. They are very actively doing something about that. In fact, an unprecedented number of Warzone cheaters have been banned lately.
Warzone makes short work of cheaters
In a Tweet Raven Software – the developer of Warzone – let us know that half a million cheaters have now been banned from the game. That number in itself does not say much. For context, a total of 300,000 cheaters were banned last February.
The game was released in March of 2020, so 300,000 cheaters were caught in the first year. In about 2.5 months, an additional 200,000 cheaters were subsequently punished! To put it even more in perspective; Call of Duty: Warzone recently hit the massive 100 million player milestone. about 0.5% of all players have been banned for a short while.
Unfortunately for the developer, this will remain a never-ending battle. Without very intrusive anti-cheat software or complicated registration systems, it is nearly impossible to keep cheaters out of free games like Warzone. After all, you have created a new account in no time.
As a small reassurance, it is of course true that cheaters have to make an effort to create a new account every time, let alone that it can also cost them a lot of money to have to purchase the software again.
