The authors of Disintegration end 9 months after the release of the game -apkrig
Studio V1 Interactive was established in 2016 and was founded by the co-author of the Halo series Marcus Lehto. The team of about 30 members created the sci-fi action Disintegration with elements of strategy, but it will not follow up on this debut from last June. Studio ends. Less than a year has passed since the game was released.
V1 Interactive thanked all current and former employees for the past five years. Marcus Lehto himself stated that good workers conditions were a priority for him. That’s why the management has been transparent from the beginning and the employees have known about the situation for several months. The point, of course, was to give them plenty of time to find a new job and not learn everything at the last minute.
We are sad to inform you that V1 Interactive is officially closing.
We want to thank all the talented people at V1, both past and present, who helped make the last 5 years wonderful.
And a heartfelt thanks to the amazing community that supported us. pic.twitter.com/XX6Sxtc32o— V1 Interactive (@V1Interactive) March 8, 2021
Disintegration collected an average mark of only about 60 percent in reviews, despite relatively high expectations. But the title allegedly had an even bigger problem in terms of sales and active players. The lack of interest of the audience led in the autumn to the decision to shut down servers for multiplayer – less than half a year after the release of the game.
Prior to the release of Disintegration, the team admitted in an interview with VGC that the situation around the pandemic gave them wrinkles. But it is definitely not just the coronavirus that is to blame for the end of the study. It is commendable, however, that in a world where employees often find out about the end of the company at the same time as the public, the management of V1 Interactive has apparently given this information to its people well in advance.
