Samsung has announced a new rugged smartphone. It concerns the Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 which will be launched on the market as an Enterprise Edition and is available immediately.

A new rugged smartphone has been added to Samsung’s portfolio. The phone in question has been given the name Galaxy XCover 5, which appears immediately as Enterprise Edition. This gives you the advantage that you are sure of periodic software updates for 5 years, one year of free Knox Suite and they are therefore specially optimized for the business market.

The rugged Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 is equipped with an improved shock resistance, whereby it can survive a drop of 1.5 meters. In addition, the device is dust and waterproof thanks to the IP68 certification and you can also operate the device with gloves on. Of course, the Galaxy XCover 5 is also robustly equipped in other areas so that it is well suited for demanding environments.

We will briefly list the specifications. The device offers a 5.3 inch TFT screen with HD + resolution. We also see an Exynos 850 2.0 GHz octa-core processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage space. There is a 16 megapixel camera on the back and a 5 megapixel front camera. The Galaxy XCover 5 offers a 3000 mAh battery that is interchangeable and can be charged with 15W. The device runs on Android 11 from the box and you can use facial recognition to unlock it.

Samsung will soon release the XCover 5 in the Netherlands. You can now buy it for 289 euros at Coolblue and Belsimpel.
