Authors Torchlight III and rFactor 2 change owners -apkrig

The last two days have brought two interesting shops in the field of video games. Zynga boasted that it had bought the Echtra Games studio by Torchlight III. In addition to this saga, its authors used to work on the Diablo series. The Echtra Games team is based in San Francisco and was founded in 2016. Its developers will now create a brand new cross-platform RPG in collaboration with NaturalMotion, which also recently introduced the title Star Wars: Hunters. This will also provide Zynga.

Zynga wants to get more involved in big games

According to the new owners, the developers of Echtra Games are responsible for some of the most legendary games and are experts in action RPGs. From this step, Zynga promises further strengthening in the field of large games for consoles and PCs. Naturally, the new alliance is also praised by Echtra Games representatives, who share the same vision with the new owners when it comes to cross-platform gaming.

The team is led by Max Schaefer, who previously co-founded Blizzard North, Flagship and Runic Games. His team includes former employees of Blizzard, Disney, Electronic Arts, Runic Games, Kabam and Undead Labs. Of course, Zyngu is famous for the hit FarmVille, but today he also has other successful brands in his portfolio, such as CSR Racing. Unfortunately, we do not know the amount of trade.

A union of two racing specialists

But as already mentioned, this is not the only current acquisition. Motorsport Games buys Studio 397, the authors of rFactor 2. Its developers would continue to work on rFactor 2 under the same brand, but would also help develop physics and control for other titles from Motorsport Games. In return, they have to help with the development of rFactor.

Both companies have been cooperating for a long time, and therefore it is assumed that the team and its management will not change in terms of personnel. Based on the current cooperation in the field of development and export, Motorsport Games believes that the union will benefit both companies. There is talk of a $ 16 million deal if it can be completed, as the parties expect. Motorsport Games releases games from the NASCAR Heat series.
